The food is good, nothing out of this world but let me tell ya - the atmosphere is great! You are always made feel welcome and the bartender Scott this summer (2009) was a total sweetheart each and every time I went to Red Star. He made the best drinks, had best suggestions as to food and any happy hour specials and was an amazing bartender all around. The rest of the waiters and bartenders were amazingly helpful too. Love this place!‎

Located in downtown Louisville, on the 4th Street Live Block, this restaurant is a great surprise. We stumbled onto this classy place looking for some bar food, and were pleasantly surprised. On 4th street, surrounded by bars and named “tavern,” we didn't expect such a high class menu or such a pleasant looking interior. The food is expensive, and can be surprising if looking for something lighter (like bar food), but the steaks are well worth the cost. The deserts are amazing… very large portions and relatively inexpensive. We've been to this place a few times, and think it's one of the best in the city. Great Location, Great Food. Highly recommend.‎
